The Best Way to Stop Loving Money

I only have a few minutes to roll this post out…so sorry for being so brief.

As a conclusion to this weeks series, I wanted to give what I believe is the most effective way to avoid loving money: Give.  Simple as that.  In my experience, people who are givers don’t struggle with making an idol out of their money (no matter how much they have); whereas, money lovers will make any and every excuse to not part ways with their dearest of dollars.  A few sentences after Paul’s warning to avoid the Love of Money in his letter to Timothy, he says: “Instruct those who are rich in this present world…to be generous and ready to share.” (1 Tim. 6)  Both the Bible and experience have shown me that generosity is the cure for so many of money’s ills.  If we simply learn to hold our money loosely, it begins to loose its hold on us.
